This is a question I've asked myself for years on end and still can not find an answer. I've come to the conclusion that real is no more than what stimulates neurons that relay messages to the brain. Virtual reality does this type of thing as well and it not "real." So I've come to the conclusion that real does not exist. There is only what is tangible and what is not. For all we know we could all be interacting in some dream world, while our bodies sleep in containment chambers, and with the rise of computers as a necessity in the modern world it is not at all impossible.

Fiction is the opposite of real, and being that real does not exist neither does fiction? Fiction is merely something we were told as young children to insure that we slept easily at night, without fear of monsters, ghosts, goblins, etc. Fiction is a section in a library, and nothing more.
